HOW TO JOIN THE 173RD

If you have made it this far, then you are probably interested in joining the group.
The information below will take you through the stages of joining.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not a REALISM group!
We use the ranks and awards just to show position and responsibilities within the 173rd.
Stage One - What you need to do to be eligible to join the 173rd
  1. Play on the game server and get to know the members of the 173rd.
  2. Register on this website and start being active in the forums.
  3. Apply to join after the above two have been completed
  4. Please do not apply if you are already in a DOD Source group UNLESS the other group is purely a league or competition based group.
Stage One.Five - HOW DO YOU JOIN THE 173rd
  1. After logging in with your username click on this link: CLICK HERE
  2. Click to join the group called 173rd Applicant .
  3. You will then get a response PM from our recruiters that will give you further information about tryout dates.
Stage Two - After Applying to join, what's next?
  1. Play on the public server and try to be active on the forums. You will then be assesed for suitability for the 173rd.
  2. You will be sent by Private message through the site giving a date for a tryout match.
  3. You will be given a link to an event on the calender where you can state if you are available or not to attend. If you do not fill this in, you will not be allowed to take part.
  4. This will be a match where all eligible recruits and any full member will take part in a fun game in match conditions. This will allow the group to asses your gameplay, communications and overall attitude within a match environment.
  5. If you can not make this tryout match, we will send you details to the next tryout match, so don't worry!
  6. After completion of the tryout match, you will be told if you have been accepted as a recruit to the 173rd
Stage Three - Being a 173rd Recruit
  1. Once you have been brought on as a' |173rd-Rec|' you will need to use this time to show you have the right attitude for the group, have a certain degree of activity (though real life should always come first) and can treat others with respect and follow our basic rules.
  2. You will be eligible to take part in future tryout matches
  3. You will be eligible to take part in any scrim with other groups
  4. You can take part in practise scrims with any squad needing to prepare for a tournament.
  5. After a period of betwen 3 to 4 weeks, you will be put to the vote of the whole group. Every 173rd member will have the chance to vote for you joining the group or not. If you receive 50% of the vote or more then you will be invited in to the group as a Private.
Stage Four - Being a full member of the 173rd
  1. Once the vote has been completed and assuming you have been successful, you will receive a Private message congratulating you on your full membership to the group and your new rank. At this point you will be placed on a squad and will be given access to the Squad's private mess hall.
  2. You will now be eligible to take part in all tournaments within the group
  3. If you would like to be put forward for extra duties within the group to help out, then please let your squad leader know.
  4. You will receive your first ribbon for completion of 'basic training'.
  5. Welcome to the 173rd as a full member!!!
  6. At this stage we hope that your involvement will still be active and we will have many things going on to make your time fun.
  7. If you have any suggestions for improvement then please notify your squad leaders.
